PORT VILA, 16th June 2021. The new fuel prices have been submitted by the SSP-Vanuatu and applies to all retail fuel outlets around Vanuatu. The new fuel price will take effect as of 19th June 2021 and are as follows:

Retail Fuel Prices
  • Premium Unleaded Petrol 95 Octane remains at 157 vatu per liter.
  • Auto Gas Oil 10 ppm Sulfur from 141 vatu per liter to 142 vatu per liter. An increase of 1 vatu per liter.

The LPG prices have been submitted by the Origin Energy-Vanuatu and are as follows:

Retail LPG Prices for Vila
  • 2.5 Kg Cylinder is at 1,000 vatu for a price of 400 vatu per Kg
  • 4.5 Kg Cylinder is at 1,755 vatu for a price of 390 vatu per Kg
  • 9 Kg Cylinder is at 3,510 vatu for a price of 390 vatu per Kg
  • 11 Kg Cylinder is at 4,290 vatu for a price of 390 vatu per Kg
  • 18 Kg Cylinder is at 7,020 vatu for a price of 390 vatu per Kg
  • 45 Kg Cylinder is at 17,550 vatu for a price of 390 vatu per Kg
  • Auto gas is at 340 vatu per Kg in 18 Kg Cylinders
  • Bulk LPG is priced at 370 vatu per Kg

  • 2.5 Kg Cylinder is at 1,000 vatu for a price of 400 vatu per Kg
  • 4.5 Kg Cylinder is at 1,800 vatu for a price of 400 vatu per Kg
  • 9 Kg Cylinder is at 3,600 vatu for a price of 400 vatu per Kg
  • 11 Kg Cylinder is at 4,400 vatu for a price of 400 vatu per Kg
  • 18 Kg Cylinder is at 7,200 vatu for a price of 400 vatu per Kg
  • 45 Kg Cylinder is at 18,000 vatu for a price of 400 vatu per Kg

Fuel Price Change Reasons

The Department of Energy releases the Fuel prices implemented in the SSP’s FIFO process. The fuel price is impacted by the movement in Means of Platts Singapore (MOPS), the international freight rate, and the exchange rate. Current outlook is that oil prices are climbing as the IEA boosted optimism about global oil demand recovery.
Meanwhile LPG prices changes is impacted by the movement in Saudi Aramco Butane Contract Price (CP), the international freight rate and the exchange rate.
